E-Pass is the electronic toll collection (ETC) system of the Cobequid Pass Toll Highway. E-Pass takes cash and coins out of the toll collection process. Instead, drivers prepay tolls and attach a small electronic device (transponder) to their vehicles. Using your E-Pass transponder, tolls are automatically calculated and deducted from your prepaid E-Pass accounts as you pass through the toll lanes. Your E-Pass is transferrable between vehicles and will work in any weather. Also, E-Pass customers receive a discounted toll rate. See Tolls & Fees for further information.

Yes. You require a separate E-Pass account. However, you do not need a new transponder. You can register your transponder from any one of the maritime toll facilities with your new E-Pass account. The Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission Macpass, the Saint John Harbour Bridge Pass and the Confederation Bridge StraitPass systems use the same transponder as the E-Pass system. If you already have a transponder from a maritime toll facility you can create an E-Pass account.

Cobequid Pass requires and initial deposit for pre paid tolls to process an application for the Cobequid Pass Toll Plaza. The initial fee is $30.00 for prepaid tolls for a 2 axle vehicle account (passenger) or $54.00 for prepaid tolls for a 3 axle or more vehicle account (commercial) and an additional $41.00 if you require a transponder. If you have a transponder from another agency, Halifax Dartmouth Bridge Commission, Saint John Harbour Bridge, or Confederation Bridge you can register the transponder with us and therefore waive the transponder fee.

Cobequid Pass does not charge maintenance or administration fees.

Cobequid Pass will provide at no charge fax or email monthly statements, please contact Customer Service to have this feature added to your account. If you require a mailed monthly statement there is a fee of $0.50 per page with a minimum charge of $3.00.

Customer Service Staff at the Cobequid Pass needs to process the applications. It is not an automated process. If you have submitted your application during regular business hours your application should be processed that day. If you have submitted your application during non business hours your application will be processed the next business day. You will receive by email a confirmation of the processing of your application which will indicate your account number for the Cobequid Pass. You will be able to access your online account information using this account number and the password that you provide when you applied through the web.

No, currently E-ZPass transponders do not work on the maritime toll facilities. A different type of transponder is required and a separate account for each maritime toll facility.
